This web-site is intended as an image repository for amateur photographers. Various search engines index the site and most hits come from the pages setup specifically for the search engines.
Images can be of any natural world object. Whenever we find that a particular subject area is getting reasonable coverage, we will create a gallery in the Galleries section.

The Systematic Pages consist of subject area index pages that group together all the images of a particular creature or plant. The top-level indexes cover all the Insects, Plants, Birds, etc., and have only scientific names. The next index level covers all the Lepidoptera, Odonata, etc., and has vernacular and scientific names.

Our personalised galleries allow members to make collections of images together with some covering text.

We welcome suggestions for changes and additional features, however we are unlikely to make changes that involve the use of Javascript, cookies, or other features that visitor's browsers may not support. We would like to improve our support for languages other than English, but we need someone with appropriate language skills to offer their free support.
If you notice any usage problems please contact us with details including what browser and platform (UNIX, WIndows XP, ...). Similarly, please contact us if you notice any factual errors. You can either email the administrator, or place an entry in the guestbook. If you are a member you can also comment upon images.
